And so it began……

Hi, my name is Mati, and as you can see from the blog, facebook page and fan page that I love to coupon.  Everyone always ask me when did you start couponing?  Sorry to disappoint ya’ll but no sob story here how I lost my job or my husband/wife/partner lost their job blah blah. I don’t understand why people aren’t just money conscious from the gecko? And tell me how the hell do you plan on saving money when no money is coming in, in the first place? But anyway, the answer is simple, I’ve always couponed my mother taught me at very young age about double and tripling coupons.   (Back when stores did double and triple and didn’t limit you to one per transaction).  What she didn’t teach me was about stock piling. Being that we lived in Apt our whole lives I’m sure she would have done it if we had the room to store it. 

So the next question is when did you start stock piling? Well folks it wasn’t that long ago as of 05/08/11 it has been one year.  It all started with 4 coupons for degree deodorant.  I found them on sale for 99c at Food town and the q was for $1 off so I thought wow I wish I had more q’s!  Because who doesn’t like free?!  Well this sent me home wondering what else I could find and what I found was that all the big time website had your chain stores like Kroger’s, Wal-Mart, CVS, Walgreens and Randall’s/Safeway.  This made me think WTF what about us local peeps right here in Houston? With a population of 4 million shouldn’t we have a place to find deals at our local stores? What about Food Town, Food Fair, Joe V’s, HEB and Fiesta? All are local store that we all drop in on for their great prices, match them up with coupons and we can get some great bargains.   So that night, there I was making my Facebook for us right here in Houston.  And so it began……
